Ask your AI about your courses.

A browser extension makes your itslearning files searchable for Claude, Codex and other AI apps. Every search result links to its source.

From DKK 19 a month, cancel any time. Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera, Vivaldi, Arc and Firefox on a computer.

Animation: the Docta extension fetches the files from a course in itslearning and turns them into text in the browser. The text is stored in your library. Your AI searches the library, answers when the hand-in is due, and links to the file in itslearning.

Setup in three steps

  1. Create an account

With your email. From DKK 19 a month, paid by card through Stripe.

  2. Install the extension

Sign in to your account and to itslearning in the extension, choose your courses and press Start sync. After that it syncs while your browser is open.

    Guide for your browser

  3. Connect your AI

Connect the AI app you use over MCP. The guide shows how, app by app.

    How to connect

Files are converted to text in your browser.

The extension downloads each file from itslearning into your browser and converts it to text there. Our server receives the text and the link to itslearning, not the file.

What we store

  • The text of your material, with title, course and folder
  • The link to each item on itslearning
  • Your email, your plan and your sync reports (counts and error codes)

What we don't store

  • Your original files
  • Your itslearning password or the extension's itslearning sign-in. The sign-in key stays in the extension.
  • Video and audio. The extension doesn't download them.

Security and data

Every note links to its source.

We write no summaries and give no answers ourselves. Your AI searches your notes, and every search result carries the link to its source on itslearning, so you can check the answer.

The link opens the file on itslearning.

Every note carries the link to the file or page it came from. The link works for anyone with access to the course.

§5.3 Diagonalisation: A = PDP⁻¹

File types

PDF, Word (.docx), PowerPoint (.pptx and .ppt), Excel (.xlsx), text files, images, zip files, pages and assignment texts. Long files are split into parts of about 80,000 characters.

The text isn't translated.

Notes hold the text as it is in the file, in the file's own language. We don't translate or rewrite it.

Your questionWhat does diagonalisable mean?
Quoted from the note“En matrix A er diagonaliserbar, hvis A er similær med en diagonalmatrix.”

Scanned pages

Scanned pages and images with printed text are read with text recognition (OCR) in your browser, using the Danish language model. Images without text are marked unreadable.

Scandet(A − λI) = 0
λ₁ = 2, λ₂ = −1
Textdet(A − λI) = 0
λ₁ = 2, λ₂ = −1

What the service does

Uses your own AI

The AI app you already use, if it supports MCP. We have no chatbot of our own.

Syncs automatically

New material is added at the next sync, and what's deleted on itslearning is deleted from your library too.

Link to the source

Every search result has the link to the file or page on itslearning.

Only your library

Your AI can only search your own library. Our admin tool shows counts and sizes, not content.

Read-only

The extension doesn't hand in, post or change anything on itslearning. It reads what you can already see.

Download and delete your data

Under My account you can download everything we hold about you as a zip file, and delete your account. It is deleted right away, and copies in our encrypted backups disappear automatically within 4 weeks.

Pricing

Semester, DKK 19 a month: this semester's courses only. Degree, DKK 39 a month: all your semesters. Cancel any time; you keep access to the end of the period.

Questions

Is Docta made by itslearning or my university?

No. Docta works with itslearning but is independent and not affiliated with itslearning AS or any university. The extension only reads what you can already see when you're signed in.

Which AI can I use?

An AI app that can connect to an MCP server over the internet with sign-in. Whether your plan with the AI provider allows it depends on the provider. The guide shows the steps for the apps we know of, and which we've tested.

Does it work at my school?

We've only tested with SDU's itslearning. Other schools on itslearning use the same system but haven't been tested.

Why not Safari?

Safari extensions need a separate build, which we haven't made. The extension exists for Chromium browsers and Firefox.
