1. The parties
This agreement is between you and Ziad Yassine og Mikkel Ryborg Blom I/S ("we"). We use Stripe for payments. Contact: support@docta.dk.
2. The service
Docta consists of a browser extension that fetches your course material from itslearning and turns it into text in your browser, a private library with us holding that text and a link to the source, and an MCP connection so your own AI can search the library.
Docta works with itslearning but is independent and not affiliated with itslearning AS or any educational institution. We're not an AI tutor: answers come from the AI you chose, and we don't vouch for them. Text extraction and text recognition can contain errors; always check the source before using anything for an assignment or exam.
3. Your account
- You must be at least 18.
- An account belongs to one person and one itslearning user. It's bound to your itslearning user on the first sync and can't be used by another itslearning user.
- Keep your AI tokens secret. You can revoke them under My account.
4. Your use
- Docta is for your own study use of material you already have access to on itslearning.
- You may not share your library, your tokens or your account with others.
- You must follow your institution's rules and copyright law. If you can't lawfully use some material this way, don't sync it.
- You may not try to access other people's libraries, put abnormal load on the service or get around its limits.
If you seriously break these terms, we may close the account. We'll write to you first unless we need to act at once.
5. Price and payment
There are two plans, paid monthly in advance by card through Stripe. We're not VAT-registered, so the price is the full price. There's no trial.
- Semester, DKK 19 a month: this semester's courses only, nothing older. A course's semester is the one it is marked with on itslearning (for example E26 or F27); January belongs to the autumn semester, and from July the coming autumn counts. Courses with no semester in their code count as the current semester.
- Degree, DKK 39 a month: all your semesters, that is all your courses in every semester you can still see on itslearning.
A third plan, Degree + AI at DKK 59 a month, is shown on the pricing page but can't be bought yet. We'll add its terms here before it can be.
Changing plan. You can change plan under My account. Switching up to Degree applies straight away, and you pay the difference for the rest of the paid period. Switching down to Semester applies from the next renewal.
Older semesters on Semester. On the Semester plan, whether from the start, after switching down or when a new semester begins, older semesters don't sync and your AI can't search them. Notes already in your library stay there and become searchable again if you switch up. They're deleted the same way as the rest of your library, if you delete your account or access has been stopped for 90 days.
If we change the price, the new price only applies to new subscriptions. With an active subscription you keep your price for as long as it runs without a break.
If a payment is declined, the subscription is unpaid straight away: syncing and AI access stop until you've paid. Your library is kept for 90 days.
6. Cancelling
You can cancel any time under My account. You keep access until the paid period ends, and nothing more is charged after that. There's no refund for a month that has started, beyond the right of withdrawal below.
When access has stopped, we keep your library for 90 days so you can come back. We email you before deleting it. You can always download your data or delete your account; see the privacy policy for what happens to backups.
7. Withdrawal and refunds
You have a 14-day right of withdrawal from the day you buy the subscription. Because you ask for access to start right away when you buy, you pay for the part of the period you had access: if you withdraw within the 14 days, you get back the unused share of the paid period (a proportional refund). After the 14 days we don't refund. Every refund is approved by us by hand and goes back to the card you paid with. See withdrawal and refunds for how, with a worked example.
8. Limits and operation
- Your library can hold up to 500 MB of text. When it's full, new uploads stop, but search still works, and we'll tell you.
- Syncing only happens while your browser is open, and uses your own itslearning sign-in in that browser. It signs the browser in to itslearning or keeps it signed in, unless you turn on Keep itslearning signed out after a sync in the extension.
- Video and audio files aren't fetched or processed. Files over 50 MB aren't converted to text.
- We can't promise the service always runs. If the server is down, the extension retries on its own.
- We may require you to update the extension if an old version no longer works with the server.
- Syncing depends on itslearning being available and continuing to let the extension read your material. That is outside our control.
9. Content and removal requests
The material in your library belongs to whoever made it. You're responsible for having the right to use the material you sync. If we receive a reasoned request to remove material, we assess each case ourselves and may remove it from one or more libraries. Requests go through the contact page.
10. Liability
We're liable under the general rules of Danish law. We're not liable for indirect loss, for answers from your AI, for faults in itslearning, or for the consequences of using an answer without checking the source. Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have as a consumer under mandatory law.
11. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we email you at least 30 days before the change applies. If you don't agree, you can cancel before then.
12. Law and complaints
This agreement is governed by Danish law. If you have a complaint, write to us first and we'll find a solution. If we can't agree, you can complain to the Danish Board of Appeals (Nævnenes Hus), naevneneshus.dk.
